Varsha Chaugai is shaping the future of health technology in long-term care. As co-founder and CEO of Evoke Health, she has emerged as a transformative leader in digital health innovation, developing solutions that are redefining how care providers communicate with families, manage compliance, and streamline operations.

Originally from Nepal, Chaugai moved to Ottawa to attend Carleton University. In 2012, she earned her Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering and began her journey into health tech and innovation. Her career has spanned roles from biomedical instructor to hardware engineer, building the foundation for her mission: to ensure that access to healthcare information is quick, easy, and barrier-free.

With the launch of Engage⁺—a resident and family communication portal integrated with the PointClickCare EHR—Chaugai has led Evoke Health to become one of Ontario's 25 fastest-growing tech companies. Under her leadership, Engage⁺ has connected tens of thousands of families with loved ones in long-term care communities across North America. The platform has also reduced staff workloads by more than 50% while improving compliance with critical regulations such as the 21st Century Cures Act.

Named Founder of the Year in 2022, Chaugai is now a respected voice in Canada's health tech ecosystem. Her work has been featured in the Ottawa Business Journal, Canadian Healthcare Technology, and CTV News. She is a frequent speaker on the future of femtech, system transparency, and innovation in eldercare.

As she continues to push the boundaries of healthcare communication, this Forty Under 40 award recognizes not only her impressive accomplishments, but her lasting impact on Canada's aging population and the future of digital health equity.
